l’anti-intellectualisme.

i really don’t understand why modern youth culture ostracizes individuals who value education. i have read and heard a few times that consumerism and advertising played a large role in “dumbing down” the youth, promoting, instead, certain fashions, fads, and the sort. listen up, fellow kids, it’s cool to dress nice, act a certain way, listen to certain types of music and shit, but it’s even cooler to do well in school and, ultimately, succeed in life, nahmean?

i kid you not, i found this inside my mom’s side table while i was looking for menthol/camphor ointment for my grandma. yes, it is what it looks like, and yes, it did smell like bud.

majulah singapura.

i was greeted with news that my dad was not going to make it out to my graduation; i was pretty fucking bummed out. however, i was also told that he already bought me a ticket to come visit him in singapore for two weeks to make up for not being able to come home. i had originally planned to visit the motherland. that trip has been postponed ‘til christmas, but in no way am i bitching about it. i’ve always dreamed about traveling around the world, and it’s fucking enthralling to start making that dream a reality. i am beyond excited for this trip, especially due to the fact that i will be traveling alone, and will have plenty of time to adventure and all that shit. summer break, please come sooner.
